In a letter from the Green Run Homes Association (GRHA), Past President Chandler Scarborough blasted Councilwoman Reba McClanan for her repeated ignoring of questions from the GRHA.
Since Green Run makes up a huge chunk of Rose Hall District, Reba's behavior is appalling. When the GRHA recently had a candidates night, McClanan was off at a Mayoral forum as a spectator. It's not the first time for her: on Day 2 of this year's Council Retreat, McClanan was off speaking to the Virginia Beach Taxpayers Alliance (VBTA) rather than attending to her Council duties.

I wonder how widely this letter was circulated?
I received it twice on Friday. My hypothesis - therefore - is that it's making the e-mail circuit.
even better was the fact that she had someone in the paper today talking about how she never forgets the community....
That type of action is why Chandler Scarborough is a Past President. They hated him in Green Run as he was a self serving officer who played politics.
His opinion letter is nothing more than negative republican party attacks on Reba for Davis's benefit. The voters are smarter than that...
Let me point out the obvious; if McClanan had answered the questions (like any good district Councilperson should have), Chandler would have had nothing to write about.
Trying to shoot the messanger doesn't whitewash Reba's behavior.
Why do people keep saying Reba is a democrat.....are you serious? She is run by the VBTA.....Davis has made a concerted effort to work with Democrats....Not just ignore them.
The letter made two things pretty clear:
1. There is written evidence that councilmembers who do not represent Green Run routinely respond to that community's questions.
2. There is written evidence that the councilmember representing that district has ignored Green Run.
Doesn't matter who sent the letter or why. But Reba's constant "NO" votes have failed to provide support for the people of Green Run.
Reba has been widely unpopular among Green Run's residents because of her refusal to support the community. Like many neighborhoods, Green Run's needs are often overlooked in favor of the Oceanfront and Town Center.
The Green Run board have been working very hard to make the neighborhood a better place to live but they have gotten little help from Reba.
While Chandler signed the letter, he was speaking on behalf of, and with approval of, the entire Board. And he was speaking for many of us who live in Green Run - and who voted against Reba on Tuesday.
