It is according to the Virginia Beach Public Libraries. The filters on our public library computers block access to the website.
On Thursday I arrived early in the Resort Area for the RAC meeting. To kill time, I went into the Oceanfront Library and signed up for a computer. Sure enough, it wouldn't allow me access to LIS.
Okay, each session there are bills introduced in the General Assembly that are obscene. However, there are clear reasons why people should be allowed access to the LIS website.
Almost as funny as filtering the Virginia Lottery's website because it's a gambling site.

This was a tremendous source of frustration for me back in 2005 when I was first transitioning from Loudoun to VB and at the same time trying to get a lot of PAC campaign work done. I complained repeatedly to the staff at Princess Anne about it. I'm surprised in this day and age that they have figured out how to fix that. I got the feeling I was the only one with a problem not being able to access LIS. That's very sad commentary about this seemingly apathetic community.
It is interesting that I am overseas (in the UK) for a few weeks and the Virginia General Assembly and LIS websites are the only ones that I have been unable to open using the internet connection in my room. I don't know why, since everything else that I check in the US works fine here.
