Conspiracy Theory of The Year Frontrunner

I think most of those who know Reid Greenmun know he's full of wacky conspiracy theories. However, this one is so good I have to share it with you all. Today at Tidewater Liberty he put up a post on the Virginia Beach Mayor's race. http://tidewaterliberty.wordpress.com/2008/08/26/thoughts-on-the-2008-va-beach-race-for-mayor

You have to love it! "It is obvious to me that DEVELOPER Scott Taylor is in the race to split off votes from John Moss." Obvious to who else, Reid? Your friend Harvey? Yeah, since Taylor is a developer he must actually be a tool of Sessoms?!? ROFL! Honest to God, how many votes are there to split off of Moss? The two dozen that go to the VBTA breakfast? Reid goes on to wonder why Moss isn't the frontrunner, and then thinks it's simply a case of lazy reporters not knowing that Moss is the man to beat.

Geez, that sure is some wicked Kool-Aid that the VBTA is serving....

Some strange Kool-Aid indeed. Just read the article and got a very good laugh. ID-TEN-T Of The Year anyone?

Henry: If Reid is anywhere close in his theory, it would be because Will knows the military folks are NEVER going to vote for him. If he has somebody that will take military votes from anyone, they will come from Oberndorf's total and not hurt his total. John Moss isn't going to draw the voters that Taylor will and while Reid might see the draw Taylor has, he has it wrong as to whose votes are going to be impacted. If Taylor is a plant and I believe he is, it will be interesting to see how the voters deal with it in November. Also I expect most minority votes will go to Oberndorf as Will was never been a minority supporter during his prior council years. That group will bring a lot of votes to the table and help kick Wills butt and send him back to his bank desk. The best thing we could all do is remove or money from Town Bank and refuse to do business with them or any business that they support. Just a thought... :-)

I still believe Mayor Oberndorf will win re-election as Elmer Fudd's picture on a few hundred big signs isn't going to erase the image Sessoms left from the last time he was on City Council.

"Elmer Fudd?"

Play nice, William.

But now I can't get that image out of my head when I see those darn signs!

Sorry but that is the who it looks like to me when I look at the big signs...

I'll try to be nice.

If Will Sessoms is Elmer Fudd, which Warner Brothers character is his partner-in-crime, Billy Harrison?

Back on topic, I can't accept the idea that Scott Taylor is a plant. He's put too much into this: gone to DED to learn economic development, gone to Norfolk Southern to learn fixed-rail transit, etc. Plants don't do stuff like that.

In addition, Scott Taylor now wants to go bus riding with Virginia Beach's delegation to HRT's User Citizen Advisory Committee (UCAC), the first candidate to make a firm commitment to go.

Taylor is not a plant. He is just a completely well-meaning, very nice, but politically clueless person.

He has no real base of support and has no real connection to the community other than living here a few years after being stationed here.

His candidacy is reminiscent of Pete Langlands.

I agree he is politicly clueless but look at his money trail. Find those folks and track Sessoms doners and you see some very interesting connections from the oceanfront business community. And to give you a hint: Michael J. Barrett is involved in the link betwen Taylor and Sessoms. A "Fine" link if you understand my message and get my hint...

Except that Taylor is a law client of Fine who is an owner of Runnymede.

Relationships overlap, and you don't want to lose business over a stupid election. So you write your client a check, slap him on the back and then have big fundraisers for his opponent.

Besides, Taylor is much more likely to take votes from Sessoms than Meyera. Let's just hope he beats Moss!

How about this.. Sessoms will beat the ribbon cutter. Spore will continue to have his numbers speak whatever language he wants them to.
You should all take a long rest you have been at this far to long.

Why don't one of you run for a VB office or perhaps you like the closet better

Dear Anonymous August 30, 2008 4:00 AM, I don't believe that is going to happen as too many folks are reporting they are not voting for "Mr. Fudd." People haven't forgot his spending spree and no amount of signage or TV will erase it. I fact the more his picture shows up, the more citizens put that face with his name & past...

And quite the interesting comments when you can hide behind it without posting you name. Who is really in the hiding in the closet? Seems you are! I put my name on my comments so you can hold me accountable...

Apparently a lot of "conspiracy theories" surround young Mr. Taylor.

While Henry (The Freeloader/Transit lobbyist) might fall in love with Scott Taylor because he will ride a bus and show up at a DED meeting or two, the odd thing is where has Scott Taylor been when addressing City Council during years and years of City Council meetings?

Scott's website states he wants to lower residential property taxes. Great - but where was Scott Taylor when John Moss and the rest of the VBTA appeared before City Council, year after year, to work to lower the tax rate increases City Council had planned?

Henry, I appreciate my award, but in reading this blog I feel compelled to share it with many others that smell a rat when it comes to Scott Taylor's "support" and the motives of some of his supporters.

The bottom line: you couldn't get John Moss elected to the Soil & Water Conservation Board. He's made far too many enemies over the years to get elected.

Let me share a story from 2000. I was with RUN and Robert Dean came in for his candidate interview. As soon as mentioned the name "John Moss" in his comments, he lost the vote of one of our members.

On the other hand, Scott Taylor provides a fresh, Republican alternative in this race. With a couple breaks, Taylor can give Oberndorf & Sessoms a run for their money.

Reid, you have got to be kidding! Not attending city council meetings will be Taylor's downfall??

Do you think ANYONE on the city council listens to what Moss says at these meetings besides DeSteph and McClanan?

You know in your heart of hearts that Moss will come in 3rd place at best and very likely 4th place.

Avenging Archangel said...

"very likely 4th place".

Yes, I'm trying to get details on a story about Scott Taylor's campaign. When you hear it, you'll know Moss will finish 4th.

Freeloader? So, Reid, you are aware that your paycheck comes from us taxpayers, right?

Anonymous said...

And while you're calling congestion-reducing people freeloaders, try saying that to NY mayor Michael Bloomberg...he rides the subway (and even stands) at regular fare!

Avenging Archangel said...

Anon 8:00,

You are correct. Reid calls anyone using tax dollars "freeloaders"...but he does contract work for the Coast Guard.

So Reid is 100% against people receiving tax dollars...unless it's himself.

Anon 8 AM: thanks for the tip
Anon 8:02 AM: thanks for the link

I do find it funny that Green Reidnut calls us transit riders freeloaders yet us taxpayers sign his check.
