Which Way, Demonrats?

Someone moves into the 6th Senate District to challenge the one-term incumbent state Senator. Which way do the Demonrats want it?

In 2003, it was fine and dandy with them when Andy Protogyrou did it.

In 2011, they're trying to make an issue out of Ben Loyola doing it.

They can't have it both ways.

It wasn't OK when either of them did it and it's not OK that Loyola is doing it now. Protogyrou was one thing, he lived in Norfolk as far as I know. I think he moved from Ghent to Lochhaven or something. Loyola moved from Pungo to Chics Beach and his family is still registered in Pungo. Not only that, but he's desperately trying to paint Northam as a liberal when anyone who knows him knows that just isn't the case. He's one of, if not the, most conservative Democrat in the State Senate and yet the Tea Party seems intent on totally distorting his voting record.

Max,

Protogyrou moved from the 5th to 6th to run.

You can argue Northam's politics, but he caucuses with the Demonrats. Therefore, he helps them keep control of the Senate.

Finally, the tea baggers habitually distort things.
