On my way to today's RAC meeting, I stopped at Long John Silver's for lunch. There an older gentleman was wearing a crimson t-shirt that read "HAHVAHD".

Henry if you don't mind me asking, do ride the bus everywhere? I find with HRT's 30 minute schedule it's not that easy to get around.

First of all, let me point out your comment is off-topic.
That said, I'll answer it. Virtually all my mileage is on the bus. Ideally HRT would run at 15-20 minute headways, but there are more pressing issues:
1. Late buses - the worst thing about riding is when they're not on time, throwing your schedule off.
For those of you who don't ride the bus, think late airline flight and what it does to your itinerary.
2. The lack of service off Virginia Beach Blvd. - besides Route 20, the rest of our year-round routes only run 12 hours per day, 6 days per week.
Therefore, we have bigger fish to fry before adding frequencies on most routes.
I'd like to ditch my car, but I'm afraid I could get left stranded by HRT.
How will they improve connections and serve more places when they are spending all their money on LRT?
Actually LRT will make it easier:
1. The trains will cut commute time where you can use them.
2. The FTA's bus requirement for LRT will improve service in the region.
