You All Agreed

It was unanimous that insurance companies don't care about your health.

The impetus was that I have a condition that medical science recommends surgery for. However, Medicare (I get it due to disability) won't cover it as I don't have one of their prerequisites. (Granted, Medicare is a government program.)

The new question: does John Moss hurt the Council of Civic Organization's (CCO) credibility? The Chairman of the extremist Virginia Beach Taxpayers Alliance (VBTA) has been invited to be the speaker at the March general meeting of Virginia Beach's civic league federation (i.e. the CCO).

John Moss hurts his own credibility!

It's rather obvious the CCO doesn't
think so.

Anon 3:30,

I believe it was a couple Board members showing their political colors, with the others too naive to grasp the ramifications.

I'll go into what was so wrong with the decision in the post where I close the poll.

Will Moss run for Mayor if his buddy Desteph does as well?

Anon 10:27,

Who knows? It may be a ruse to pretend DeSteph is independent of the VBTA.

IMO: The CCO doesn't have credibility as they do not represent anywhere close to a majority of the residents or even the neighborhoods in VB. They are a small fraction as most neighborhoods are not into a civic league since the 1970's.

The CCO is a minor player in the setting of policy in this city and many of the CCO players are concerned with their own political future rather than VB citizens future, safety and living conditions.

Moss has his role to play and if he reprsents a neighborhood that is in the CCO(mine is) then why shouldn't he sit or represent his neighborhood? Seems the CCO rules are made to allow anyone to serve if the $$$ dues are paid.

Moss adds experiance to the CCO and might in the end, help bring the CCO more credibility.

Anon 3:50,

Uh...Moss is going to do a presentation, not be be a civic league rep.

As for the CCO, it's the most broad-based coalition of neighborhood groups in the city. Why more civic leagues haven't joined is for multiple reasons, most not germane to this topic.
